BOTTOM PLAYER (LASSO GUARD)

POSITION

Gi. On your back with a lasso connection of your choice, shallow or deep, on your partner, who starts on their knees.

OBJECTIVE

Use the lasso to attack whatever they give you: the upper body or the legs.

CONSTRAINTS

You must keep at least one sleeve grip the whole time; as long as you have a sleeve, you're still in the game. If you lose the lasso, work back to any lasso; it's your safe spot. A deep lasso lets you pull, a shallow one lets you push. If they stand and posture, push their hips away to bring the shoulder line closer, or play hooks on their legs. If their feet are far away, go upper body; if they posture high, go to the legs. Locking it up is the win: don't finish, stop there and reset. Tap and release the moment anything loads an elbow, shoulder, knee, ankle, or the neck; reset on a tap. Switch roles on every win.

WIN CONDITION

You attach your legs to their shoulder line (the omoplata or triangle starting position), or, when they stand and the upper body isn't there, you get between their legs in any way.

TOP PLAYER

POSITION

Gi. On your knees in your partner's lasso guard.

OBJECTIVE

Strip both sleeve grips.

CONSTRAINTS

You can stand up and move around to break the grips. You can pass on the way to clearing the grips, but you don't have to; removing the grips is enough. Tap and release on any shoulder or neck pressure; reset on a tap. Switch roles on every win.

WIN CONDITION

You break away both sleeve grips.
