K-Guard (entanglement context) — Defending

Defending the K-guard entanglement in no-gi — an outside entry that arrives inside. Kill the transition, keep the knee line, and stop preparing for the position you were in.

K-guard in its entanglement form, defended. The attacker has used a K-guard entry and arrived at an inside structure on your leg.

The important thing about this position is when the danger changes. K-guard is an outside-position entry that produces inside control by transition — so the moment that matters is the transition, not the arrival.

A defender who reads the entry as an outside problem and prepares outside answers is preparing for the position they were in, not the one arriving.

Before drilling K-Guard (entanglement context) (Defending)

Elevated RiskK-Guard (entanglement context) (Defending) is an elevated risk technique. The inside heel hook is the finish this entry is built toward, loading the knee through internal rotation. Everything true of inside-line timelines applies once the transition completes. Serious injury can occur Short after the transition, longer before it. Almost all of your usable time is on the wrong side of a moment most defenders miss..

If you are new to this technique: read this section before anything else. Understanding the danger is part of understanding the technique.

The person applying the technique is responsible for releasing immediately.
