Twister Escape
Twister escape — keep the near leg tight in turtle, tuck the chin to kill the head-control half, and strip the hook to spin out of the truck.

The twister is a spinal lock applied from the truck. For the attack, see Twister. The truck holds your lower body in one rotation; the head control turns your upper body the other way; and your spine is what sits between them. It is banned in a number of rulesets and it is the reason spinal locks are treated as their own safety category.
It has two halves and it needs both. Take away the leg entanglement and there is no lower anchor; take away the head control and there is nothing to counter-rotate against. That gives a defender two independent lines of attack on one submission, which is unusual and worth exploiting — the middle answer works on the head half while the truck is still on, and the late answer works on the truck half.
The submission is genuinely dangerous, so the honest emphasis is on the early stage. The twister comes from turtle, and a turtle with the near leg tucked tight is a turtle the truck cannot be entered from.
Elevated RiskTwister (Defence) is an elevated risk technique. Counter-rotation of the spine — the lumbar and thoracic segments loaded in torsion between a fixed lower body and a turned upper body. Spinal injuries are categorically worse than joint injuries: they involve structures that do not heal predictably, the consequences can be lasting, and the warning is unreliable because torsional load distributes across many segments rather than concentrating where you can feel it. Neck involvement adds a second, separate hazard at the cervical spine. Serious injury can occur Unpredictable, which is the problem.
