TOP PLAYER

POSITION

Top of half guard. Start with one of your partner's wrists already pinned to their hip and your other hand across the far side of the hip. Alternate which wrist is pinned each turn.

OBJECTIVE

Keep the wrist pin while you get under at least one elbow and connect your hands.

CONSTRAINTS

Hold the pinned wrist long enough to find space under an elbow; once you are under the elbow you can release the pin to lock your hands. Use the pin to stay close so frames cannot shove you out. Reset and switch roles after either side wins.

WIN CONDITION

Get under at least one of your partner's elbows and connect your hands while keeping (or having used) the wrist-to-hip pin.

BOTTOM PLAYER

POSITION

Bottom of half guard on your side, one wrist pinned to your hip, with the top player's other hand across.

OBJECTIVE

Free yourself before they lock hands under an elbow.

CONSTRAINTS

Use your legs however you need. Two ways to win; whichever happens first counts. Reset and switch roles after either side wins.

WIN CONDITION

Get both feet back to the middle of your partner's knees, or use your knees to make the top player fall over.
