Rules — position, constraints, win

TOP PLAYER

POSITION

Half guard with hip-to-hip contact already won (lower-body control). Bottom player still holds an upper-body frame (forearms against chest or shoulder).

OBJECTIVE

Clear the upper-body frame and settle chest-to-chest inside the elbows.

CONSTRAINTS

Start from the split: you own the hips; they own the upper-body frame. Reset if either player is clearly off-balanced, or when either side scores. Default rounds 2–4 minutes. Role rotate after each reset.

WIN CONDITION

Clear the upper-body frame and press chest-to-chest inside the opponent's elbows.

BOTTOM PLAYER

POSITION

Bottom of half guard with an established upper-body frame while the top player has hip-to-hip contact.

OBJECTIVE

Get a leg back between both players before the chest settles inside the elbows.

CONSTRAINTS

Same split start and reset. Keep the frame honest — do not abandon it to chase a random scramble.

WIN CONDITION

Get a leg between both players to create a knee shield or foot-inside position.
