SETUP

Same attacker for 3 minutes, then switch. Three levels. You have to finish a level to move up.

  1. No hooks. Get both hooks in (your feet in front of their hips).
  2. Start with one hook. Get the second hook in.
  3. Start with both hooks. Now it's a regular back round: submit or escape.

TOP PLAYER (ATTACKER)

POSITION

Seated behind your partner, chest on their back, hands connected around their shoulder line any way you like: double unders under the armpits, or over-under.

OBJECTIVE

Finish your level, then move up.

CONSTRAINTS

On level 3 you can let go of your hands and do whatever you want to look for a submission. If your partner ends up facing you and you're no longer chest to back, the round is over. Ours, not the source's: on level 3, tap early and let go the moment your partner taps.

WIN CONDITION

Level 1: get both hooks in. Level 2: get the second hook in. Level 3: submit.

BOTTOM PLAYER (DEFENDER)

POSITION

Seated, your partner behind you with their chest on your back and hands connected.

OBJECTIVE

Stop the hooks without taking your hands off theirs, and turn to face.

CONSTRAINTS

Levels 1 and 2: your hands stay on their hands. Block the hooks by closing the gap at your hip with your elbows or your knee to your chest, or by hiding your hip to the mat. To turn and face, you need two hands on one of their hands, or it doesn't count. Level 3: you can use your hands. Ours, not the source's: on level 3, tap early.

WIN CONDITION

Turn and face your partner. On levels 1 and 2, only with two hands on one of their hands.
