Notes (this phone)
TOP (PASSER)
POSITION
Knee-shield half guard: your partner's two legs are interacting with one of yours, their knee in front of you as a shield. You are on top, trying to get past.
OBJECTIVE
Make chest-to-chest or chest-to-back contact.
CONSTRAINTS
Stay in the half-guard exchange until someone wins. Any route to chest contact counts; Souders does not prescribe a pass. Switch roles after either player wins.
WIN CONDITION
Your chest touches their chest, or your chest touches their back.
BOTTOM (KNEE SHIELD)
POSITION
Knee-shield half guard: two legs interacting with one, knee in front of your partner as a shield.
OBJECTIVE
Get both feet between your partner's knees (both feet to the inside).
CONSTRAINTS
Use your connections (hands, knees, feet) to put their hands or hips on the mat as you work — that destabilization is the path, not a separate score. Stay in two-legs-on-one until you win or they get chest contact. How you get both feet inside is up to you. Switch roles after either player wins.
WIN CONDITION
Both of your feet are between your partner's knees.
