TOP PLAYER (IN THE LEGS)
POSITION
In front of your partner, inside their butterfly guard.
OBJECTIVE
Get your chest close enough to lock your hands around them.
CONSTRAINTS
The lock has to be around the body, from the waist up; around the head also counts, but it's weak control. Go for the lock that gives you the most control, not just the one that wins the game. You can't lock your hands from far away, so get chest to chest. Stay in the same role for 2.5 minutes. After any win, reset to the start without swapping; swap roles at 2.5 minutes.
WIN CONDITION
You lock your hands around their body, from the waist up.
BOTTOM PLAYER (BUTTERFLY GUARD)
POSITION
Seated in butterfly guard with your partner in your legs.
OBJECTIVE
Sweep them, or stand up.
CONSTRAINTS
Standing up is always an option; if a sweep fails, you can stand and re-engage. Hand fight and stay aware of where everything is. Don't only block the hands: keep their chest away, because if their chest can't get close, their hands can't lock. Stay in the same role for 2.5 minutes. After any win, reset to the start without swapping; swap roles at 2.5 minutes.
WIN CONDITION
You sweep them and come up on top, or you stand up.
