Leg First, Then the Lock
pins
Grapplers Collective, Leg First, Then the Lock. 5-6 min rounds.
Problem
Trapping one arm with a leg, then locking the figure four at the neck.
Tell the room
Trap one of the defender's arms with a leg. Only then may the hands go to the neck for the figure four. The lock scores the moment it closes. Nothing gets finished.
Setup
Start in the straight jacket. Attacker chest to back, both hooks in, one arm over the shoulder and one under the far armpit. Defender's hands live.
Score
The figure four at the neck.
- Attacker — one arm trapped by a leg, then the figure four closes
- Defender — turns fully chest to chest, on top or bottom
- Defender — gets their back flat with the attacker displaced
- Defender — escapes fully, with no connection left between them
Rules
- The leg goes first. No hands to the neck until one arm is trapped by a leg.
- Lock only, never tighten. The strangle closes and stops there. No pressure, no taps.
- No guard pulls. Defender scores by turning to face or going back flat.
Adjust
Easier
Defender keeps one hand on their own chest until the arm is trapped.
Harder
The trapped arm has to be the far one, not the near one.
If it stalls
If the attacker's hands go to the neck first, ask which leg is free and what it could be holding.
