Arms Under the Head
pins
Grapplers Collective, Arms Under the Head. 5-6 min rounds.
Problem
Holding mount with both of the bottom's arms trapped under their own head.
Tell the room
Top keeps both of the bottom's arms buried under their head and never stops working. Only the bottom can score. The bottom escapes by getting both elbows to the ribs or a knee in between.
Setup
Start with the arms already buried. Top in full mount, both underhooks driving the bottom's hands under their own head. Top may collapse their hands together.
Score
Both elbows back, or a knee.
- Bottom — both elbows collapsed to the ribs with the top's underhooks stripped out
- Bottom — a knee in between the two bodies
- Top — does not score. The round measures the bottom's escape time
Rules
- Hold with the chest, not the hands. Top may collapse their own hands, but no grips on the bottom's wrists, arms, or clothing.
- Top stays mounted. No submissions, no back takes. Keeping the position is the whole job.
- Drive the arms, never crank them. Tap for shoulder pressure and both reset.
Adjust
Easier
Start with one hand under the head instead of two, so the bottom has a live arm from the first second.
Harder
Bottom escapes inside thirty seconds or the round resets to the same start.
If it stalls
If the bottom only bridges, ask them which is closer right now, an elbow or a knee.
