Grapplers Collective, Base Only. 5-6 min rounds.

Problem

A body lock from behind where the floor is the bottom's only tool.

Tell the room

Top holds a body lock from behind with the head hidden. Bottom has the floor and nothing else. Bottom scores by recovering any guard; top scores with back control or a pin.

Setup

Start seated, locked from behind. Bottom sits on one hip, posted on that hand. Top locks the hips from behind the knee line, head hidden behind the back.

Score

Back control, a pin, or a guard.

  • Top — back control with a seatbelt, or any pin, held three seconds
  • Bottom — recovers any guard, with a leg or a frame between them and the top

Rules

  1. Head stays hidden. Top keeps their head behind the bottom's back and re-hides it before advancing.
  2. Stay behind the knee line. The top's connection never crosses in front of the bottom's knees.
  3. No lifting and dropping. Top may raise the hips but returns them under control.

Adjust

Easier

Bottom posts both hands, so there are two bases to move from.

Harder

Top may hunt hooks and a strangle once back control lands, so a slow escape costs more.

If it stalls

If the bottom keeps digging for the head, ask what their posted hand and their feet can do instead.
