Grapplers Collective, Closed Guard Offense. 5-6 min rounds.
Problem
Attacking and creating angles from closed guard instead of holding.
Tell the room
Bottom attacks from closed guard every 20 seconds. Top breaks the guard or holds posture, staying on the knees. Top also scores by holding upright posture with every bottom grip broken for 5 seconds.
Setup
Start in closed guard. Bottom on their back, ankles locked, no grips. Top postured upright on the knees, both hands on the hips.
Score
Attack, break, or hold posture.
- Bottom — sweeps to top, sets a submission, or takes the back
- Top — opens the guard, or holds posture with grips broken 5 seconds
Rules
- Attack every 20 seconds. If the bottom does nothing for 20 seconds, the top scores.
- Top stays on the knees. No standing up to break the guard.
Adjust
Easier
Drop the 20-second clock and have the top work at 70 percent so the bottom can find angles.
Harder
Let the top stand to break the guard, and open full submissions for both players.
If it stalls
If the bottom repeats one attack every window, require two different attack directions before a score counts.
