BOTH PLAYERS

TOP PLAYER and BOTTOM PLAYER share these rules.

POSITION

Standing, one arm’s length apart, upright athletic stance, weight balanced. No grips and no contact. Symmetric with the other player.

OBJECTIVE

Establish a dominant grip configuration the other player cannot strip.

CONSTRAINTS

No takedowns. Hand fight only. Nothing goes to the mat. Engage within 5 seconds. Neither player may hang back and wait the other out. Stay inside 2m × 2m. No circling out or backing away to make space. Reset when either player builds a dominant grip that holds against one strip attempt. 2-3 min rounds.

WIN CONDITION

First to a stable dominant grip: collar tie plus wrist, or collar plus sleeve; two-on-one on either arm; double underhooks, chest to chest; or body lock with the hands connected. The grip must hold against one strip attempt.
