Seated Back Entry
guard
Grapplers Collective, Seated Back Entry. 3-5 min rounds.
Problem
Loading a seated guard into a double-inside-hook back-take entry against a standing passer with continuous shin-on-hamstring pressure.
Tell the room
The standing player keeps a shin on a hamstring. The seated player off-balances them and climbs to double inside hooks behind them. Hooks count after 1 second; the pass holds for 3.
Setup
Start seated under shin pressure. Bottom seated with hips up, hands free. Standing partner in passing posture with one shin on the near hamstring.
Score
Hooks 1 second, pass 3 seconds.
- Bottom — double inside hooks behind the partner with both ankles gripped
- Bottom — forces the standing player's hands or hips to the mat
- Standing — passes the legs into chest-to-chest side control or north-south
Rules
- Shin stays on the hamstring. Contact broken for over 2 seconds gives the bottom player a point.
- Standing player stays off the mat. Never both knees or both hands down; one foot stays weighted.
- Bottom cannot stand. Build the entry from seated or hips up.
Adjust
Easier
Drop the off-balance score and count only the double-inside-hook reach.
Harder
Require the bottom player to convert the hooks into chest-to-back with the hands locked.
If it stalls
If the bottom player keeps getting cleared, ask "Where is their shin pointing?" and load the opposite way.
