BOTH PLAYERS

TOP PLAYER and BOTTOM PLAYER share these rules.

POSITION

Both square and upright, chest-to-chest. Each player has one collar tie and one underhook. Mirror grips, no advantage to either side.

OBJECTIVE

Start on your knees, chest-to-chest, with a mirrored collar tie and underhook. Fight to back control, mount, or side control. Hold the position for 3 seconds to score.

CONSTRAINTS

Stay on your knees. No standing up or breaking contact to reset distance. No guard pulls. Both players fight for top or dominant position. Earn dominance before finishing. No submissions until a dominant position is held. Keep the exchange live. No score inside 60 seconds resets to the start. Reset when either player holds back control for a continuous 3 seconds; when either player holds mount or side control for a continuous 3 seconds; or when there is no score inside 60 seconds. 3-5 min rounds.

WIN CONDITION

Back control held for a continuous 3 seconds; or mount or side control held for a continuous 3 seconds.

Rules

  1. Stay on your knees. No standing up or breaking contact to reset distance.
  2. No guard pulls. Both players fight for top or dominant position.
  3. Earn dominance before finishing. No submissions until a dominant position is held.
  4. Keep the exchange live. No score inside 60 seconds resets to the start.

Adjust

Easier

Start from a defined position — both in turtle, or one in turtle — and extend the exchange clock to 90 seconds.

Harder

Allow standing, add submissions from any position, and cut the exchange clock to 45 seconds.

If it stalls

If both players hold chest-to-chest without initiating, add a 10-second action clock; no change means a reset with no score.
