FACING PLAYER

POSITION

Standing, facing your partner, who has their back close to a wall.

OBJECTIVE

Score points: put them into the wall, take them down, or foot sweep them.

CONSTRAINTS

Any part of their body touching the wall scores. After a takedown, keep going only while you are clearly advancing; stall for a couple of seconds and you reset. The aim is the foot sweep, not walking your partner into the wall.

WIN CONDITION

1 point for making your partner touch the wall, 2 points for any takedown or back take, 3 points for a foot sweep.

WALL PLAYER

POSITION

Standing with your back close to a wall but not touching it, facing your partner. Cal Jones suggests starting up to about a meter away so you have room to turn.

OBJECTIVE

Push back hard, turn your partner, and score on them.

CONSTRAINTS

Don't let yourself get pushed to the wall. Same scoring for you: turn your partner so they touch the wall, take them down, or sweep them. Their push into you is your chance to turn and sweep.

WIN CONDITION

1 point for making your partner touch the wall, 2 points for any takedown or back take, 3 points for a foot sweep.
