TOP PLAYER
POSITION
Chest-to-chest and perpendicular, crossface and far-arm control, hips low.
OBJECTIVE
Advance from side control to mount. Mount counts after 3 seconds held.
CONSTRAINTS
Stay connected. Top player keeps chest, hip, or shoulder contact at all times. No submissions. Both players work the positional puzzle only. Bottom player stays down. No standing up; solve mount with frames and hip movement. Turtle scores nothing. Play continues while the top player re-establishes or transitions. Reset when the top player holds full, low, or technical mount for 3 seconds; when the bottom player recovers any guard, half guard included; or when the bottom player survives 90 seconds. 4-5 min rounds.
WIN CONDITION
Full, low, or technical mount held for 3 seconds.
BOTTOM PLAYER
POSITION
Framing on hip and shoulder, elbows tight.
OBJECTIVE
Recover guard or stay off their back. The bottom player also scores by surviving 90 seconds.
CONSTRAINTS
Same stay-connected, no-submission, stay-down, turtle-scores-nothing, and named reset rules. 4-5 min rounds.
WIN CONDITION
Recovers any guard, half guard included, or survives 90 seconds.

Adjust
Easier
Restrict the top player to one announced entry and require a 1-second pause in a clear preparation position first.
Harder
Back control with one hook also scores for the top player, and survival drops to 60 seconds.
If it stalls
If the top player repeats one entry, ask: “They solved that one — what did their defense give you?”
