TOP PLAYER
POSITION
A takes any grip set — collar and sleeve, 2-on-1, or collar tie and wrist.
OBJECTIVE
Keep one controlling grip for 15 straight seconds.
CONSTRAINTS
No takedowns or guard pulls. Keep the fight in the hands and wrists. A cannot re-grip once cleared. Retain grips by adjusting angle and movement, not by regrabbing. Work inside 3m × 3m. Do not create distance to reset the exchange. Clearing alone does not score. Reset when A holds one controlling grip for 15 unbroken seconds, or when B strips every grip and then establishes their own dominant grip. 3-5 min rounds.
WIN CONDITION
Holds one controlling grip for 15 unbroken seconds.
BOTTOM PLAYER
POSITION
B starts hands free at wrestling distance.
OBJECTIVE
Strip every grip, then establish a dominant grip of your own.
CONSTRAINTS
Same no-takedown, no-re-grip, 3m × 3m, and named reset rules. Clearing alone does not score. 3-5 min rounds.
WIN CONDITION
Strips every grip, then establishes their own dominant grip.
Grapplers Collective, Continuous Grip Fight. 3-5 min rounds.
Problem
Dynamic grip retention and breaking through live resistance.
Tell the room
A starts with grips and keeps one for 15 straight seconds. B strips every grip, then builds their own. Clearing alone does not score.
Setup
Give one player the grips. A takes any grip set — collar and sleeve, 2-on-1, or collar tie and wrist. B starts hands free at wrestling distance.
Score
Retain or replace the grips.
- A — holds one controlling grip for 15 unbroken seconds
- B — strips every grip, then establishes their own dominant grip
Rules
- No takedowns or guard pulls. Keep the fight in the hands and wrists.
- A cannot re-grip once cleared. Retain grips by adjusting angle and movement, not by regrabbing.
- Work inside 3m × 3m. Do not create distance to reset the exchange.
Adjust
Easier
Drop the hold to 10 seconds and let B score by clearing the grips alone.
Harder
A may switch to entirely new grip configurations mid-round, so B must handle grip chaining.
If it stalls
If both players keep backing out to reset, shrink the area to 2m × 2m.
