TOP PLAYER
POSITION
Behind your partner, chest to back, both hooks in. Reach across with cross grips into a straight jacket (one arm over a shoulder, the other under the far armpit). Fall to either side, over side or under side.
OBJECTIVE
Finish from the back, or follow them to chest to chest and finish there.
CONSTRAINTS
From the back you can drop the arm first or go straight for the strangle. You may come up on top to chest to chest only with at least one underhook (an arm under their elbow); from there the armbar, chicken-wing kimura, and head-and-arm strangle are live. Release any submission the instant they tap.
WIN CONDITION
Finish a strangle from the back, or, after coming on top with an underhook, finish an armbar, chicken-wing kimura, or head-and-arm strangle.
BOTTOM PLAYER
POSITION
Back taken with both hooks in and your arms wrapped in a straight jacket.
OBJECTIVE
Escape the back without getting caught on the way out.
CONSTRAINTS
An escape only counts when you are out of danger, meaning your partner is not attacking a submission at that moment. Tap early; your partner releases on the tap. Reset on either win.
WIN CONDITION
Get both shoulders on the mat and out of danger, or become the top player and out of danger.
